The Department of Health and Human Services sets guidelines for Americans on the amount and types of physical activity needed each day.

Children & Adolescents (6 – 17 Years Old):
• 60 Minutes or more of aerobic exercise a day (at least 3 days a week)
• Strength training (at least 3 days a week)
• Bone strengthening (at least 3 days a week)

Adults (18 to 64 Years Old):
• For substantial health benefits: at least 2.5 hours a week of moderate activity or 1.25 hours a week of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity
• For more extensive health benefits: 5 hours of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity a week
• Muscle strengthening activities for all major muscle groups (2 or more days a week)

Older Adults (65+ Years Old):
• Follow the adult guidelines for what your abilities and conditions safely allow
• Exercises to improve balance
